The Court says I need to Publish my Petition for Change of Name. Do you have to put it online? Do you have to publish my address?
In California, the publication of a name change petition is generally required by Code of Civil Procedure § 1277. The court's Order to Show Cause must be published once a week for four consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the county where the petition is filed. We do not publish your address or telephone number. We do not post your legal notice online, because it is not required that we do so (though you may request that we post it online, if you prefer!).
